Case Study: The Norfolk Galvanised Handrail Project

This railing project was focused on improving safety on either side of a bridge. The existing system comprised wooden posts and rails. The posts were failing and no longer providing the necessary protection (see image below). Our customer, a large highways contractor working on behalf of Norfolk County Council needed something stronger and longer-lasting to ensure safety for pedestrians using the bridge. That’s when they turned to Speedy Fixings for bespoke galvanised bollards. 

Working with the contractor , we designed and manufactured bespoke galvanised posts in-house – therefore controlling every part of the process and ensuring the product met the exact specifications. Along with the bollards, we supplied all the necessary fixings: through bolts, interclamp fittings, drill bits, and more. This meant the client received everything needed for installation from one supplier. 

The entire project, including delivery, was completed in just one week. Not only did we deliver quickly, but the bespoke bollards and fixings are also high quality. The bollards were galvanised to ensure longevity in an outdoor environment, giving Norfolk County Council a sturdy, reliable solution to last them many years. 

Our customer was very happy with the finished result and has mentioned we should expect more orders from them in the future. Also, the council are specifying these bollards for other projects after seeing the quality for themselves.
