Common nails are used for general construction and building projects, such as framing and structural work. These nails can also be used for woodworking projects and various other applications. Round wire nails are general-purpose nails often used for carpentry projects where strength is more important than appearance. This includes repairing fence panels and fixing floor joists. We stock both bright round wire nails and galvanised round wire nails. Ring shank nails, also called annual nails, are most commonly used for softer woods. These feature annual ridges along the shank for extra holding power and to prevent the nails from being easily removed. Ring shank nails are available as bright, shreadised and stainless steel. Square twist nails are used for fixing restraint straps, joist hangers and other builders' metalwork. These feature a twisted shank for pull-out resistance. We stock sheradised square twist nails in various lengths. The sheradised finish gives these nails improved resistance to corrosion and strength. For a neat flush appearance, lost head nails are a great choice. These nails feature small round heads that can be easily driven into the surface. We supply both bright lost head nails and sheradised lost head nails in various lengths and sizes. Oval brad nails are also used to provide a clean finish as these can be hammered below the surface. Plus, due to their specialist head shape, oval brad nails prevent wood splitting. These can be used for both softwood and hardwood. Panel pins are lightweight nails used for joinery and cabinet work, such as fixing the back of wardrobes and fixing skirting together. These are slender and delicate nails that offer strength when in place. We supply 25mm x 1.6mm Bright Panel Pins. Clout nails, instantly recognisable for their large, flat heads and thick shanks, are used for fixing roofing felt, studding timber and fastening sheet material.
