Throughbolts, also known as through bolts or through fixings, are medium to heavy-duty high performance anchors used in concrete. These are torque control anchors that must be installed with a torque wrench and will rely on friction to expand. These concrete fixings are fastened straight through the fixture into the substrate, and can be used for a variety of applications, including installing heavy garage doors, railings and large awnings. Through bolts come in various sizes and finishes, including Zinc Plated Throughbolt Anchors, Galvanised Throughbolt Anchors and Stainless Steel Throughbolt Anchors. Fixing two differing materials? Shield Anchors (7)
Shield anchors are medium to heavy duty anchors that can be used for concrete and masonry. These high expansion anchors provide a high load bearing option which spreads the load across the material. At Speedy Fixings, we stock a large selection of these heavy-duty expansion anchors, including shield only anchor, loose bolt shield anchors, projecting shield anchors and hook and eye bolt shield anchors. Loose bolt shield anchors are three way expansion shields that can be used for concrete and brick. These anchors offer an exceptional grip and can be used for oversized holes. We stock Zinc and Yellow Passivated Loose Bolt Shield Anchor in various threads and lengths. Projecting shield anchors feature a projecting stud which allows the fixture to be positioned into place and then securely fastened. We supply Zinc Plated Projecting Bolt Shield Anchor in a variety of dimensions to suit any requirements, from M6 to M16 thread sizes. Hook and eye bolt shield anchors will provide temporary or permanent anchorage in stone, concrete and brickwork. These can secure cables and stays to fix clothes lines, shade sails and much more. Heavy Duty Anchors (3)
We have a wide range of heavy-duty anchor fixings These anchors come in a variation of sizes from 10 x 70mm to 28 x 222mm, so you are bound to find the correct size for your task. Our ETA certified Anchor bolts are ideal for heavy-load attachments in concrete substrates, in both cracked and non-cracked concrete. They are widely used for critical applications in construction, engineering, and industrial applications. Three different models of Heavy Duty Anchor are available – Hexagon bolt, hexagon nut, and for flush surface mounting, a countersunk bolt option. All sizes from M8 are approved for use under seismic actions C1 and C2. They are a sleeve type anchor incorporating a plastic compression ring ,which deforms preventing the anchor from spinning in the hole. Sleeve Anchors (7)
Sleeve anchors are used for light-duty to medium-duty fastening purposes in both concrete and masonry. These concrete anchors can be used to secure different objects to hard surfaces, such as a shelf to a brick wall, as well as to connect multiple concrete surfaces. Also known as an anchor bolt, sleeve anchors are available in various head styles, including hexagon and countersunk. At Speedy Fixings, we stock a wide selection of sleeve anchors in various sizes and materials, including stainless steel and zinc plated. Hex sleeve anchors feature a hexagon head and are great for various applications. Some of our hexagon sleeve anchors include Zinc Plated Bolt Head Sleeve Anchor, Zinc Plated Loose Nut Sleeve Anchor and Stainless Steel 316-A4 Loose Nut Sleeve Anchor. Countersunk sleeve anchors or flat sleeve anchors feature a countersunk head that gives a flat, flush finished look. These expansion anchors are available as Stainless Steel 304-A2 Countersunk Sleeve Anchor and Zinc Plated Countersunk Sleeve Anchor. Drop-in Anchors (4)
Drop-in anchors are permanent anchors designed to be fitted into pre-drilled holes in concrete. These fixings require a setting tool to expand the anchor in the hole. A permanent socket allows for the removal of bolts and fixtures. At Speedy Fixings, we stock a range of internally threaded socket anchors, including Stainless (316-A4) Drop-in Anchor, Zinc Plated Drop-in Anchor and Drop-in Anchor Setting Punch. These are available in various thread sizes. Besides our standard drop-in anchors, we can also supply ‘Lipped’ drop-in anchors and anchors with full European technical approval (ETA). Resin Anchors (23)
Resin anchors, also known as chemical anchors, are designed to fix heavy loads to concrete and masonry. These are stress-free fixings, meaning they do not induce compression stresses in the base material and, in turn, can be installed at close spacing and edge distances. Due to this, resin anchors offer a strong anchorage in masonry and concrete surfaces. At Speedy Fixings, we stock a variety of resin anchors for sale, including some types that are suitable for use underwater. From pump-in resin and resin anchor studs to internally threaded sockets and glass capsules, find the most suitable fixing for your application today. Pump-in resin, sometimes referred to as resin injection systems, are bonded anchor systems that feature a two-part system which mixes in the nozzle during pumping. These resin injection systems can be used with most materials. The 400ml Rawl RKER II Hybrid Resin can be used in cracked and non-cracked concrete as well as dry or wet substrates and water-filled holes. Resin anchor studs or chemical anchor studs are designed to be used when fixing with chemical resin. These will provide a strong fixing into concrete. We supply a variety of resin anchor studs, including Stainless Steel 316-A4 Resin Anchor Stud, Galvanised Resin Anchor Stud and Zinc Plated Mild Steel Resin Anchor Stud. These all come with nuts and washers and are available in a vast range of sizes. Internal threaded sockets are ideal to be used when a removable fixing is required. Our internal threaded sockets are available in a variety of thread sizes and materials, from M8 Zinc Plated Internal Threaded Socket and M12 Stainless Steel 304-A2 Internal Threaded Socket to M16 Stainless Steel 316-A4 Internal Thread Socket. Glass resin capsules are the earliest type of resin anchor and work particularly well in concrete. These are divided into two main categories: spin-in capsules and hammer-in capsules. Resin Anchor Spin-in Capsules need to be spun using an internally threaded socket and drill to mix the contents. In hammer-in systems, internally threaded sockets are hammered through Resin Anchor Hammer-in Capsules to draw the substance through the resin.
